So here’s the deal, I used to never be afraid/ not want to go to the dentist. Ever since i got my wisdom teeth out two years ago, it has been quite the different story. I’ve always willingly gone to whatever doctor and dentist needed to go to, with no anxiety or fear. Getting my wisdom teeth out was one of those experiences you never want to repeat twice. Not to scare anyone, I had a pretty rare case that only happens to a very small percentage of people. Anyways, I got a dry socket in the bottom wound, and was probably the most intense pain I have thus felt in my life. Now, I have a pretty good tolerance for pain ( i sit for tattoos like a dream). Usually you recover from getting your wisdom teeth out in a few days. I couldn’t eat solid food for a month. Not only that, my mom being a nurse and all didn’t believe the amount of pain I was in, had to wait a week to go back to the oral surgeon for him to put a numbing dressing in the actual socket where the nerve was gone. Now I’m not saying my mom is a bad nurse or anything at all haha, but you have to be in a extreme amount of pain, or super sick (like when I had the swine flu haha), for my mom to know its serious. It toughens you up, I guess you could say in a way. Anyways back to getting the numbing thing in my wound. It was the most intense, shooting pain, I have ever had. I instantly burst into tears when it was put it. Wishing I was put under or something for it. Soon after it started taking effect and i was good for a few weeks until he had to take it. I lost a good 15 pounds, and ate milkshakes and a lot of mashed potatoes, for a month.
This is why I hate going to the dentist now……
